First Quarter: Broncos Strike First
The game started off with the Denver Broncos showing some early offensive firepower. Russell Wilson led the charge, finding his rhythm with short passes and smart decisions on the field. The Broncos' opening drive ended with a beautiful 25-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, putting Denver up 7-0.
The Saints, led by Derek Carr, struggled initially to get things going. The Broncos’ defense, led by star linebacker Josey Jewell, applied constant pressure, forcing the Saints to punt twice in their first two possessions. But the Saints’ defense held strong, keeping the game within reach.
Second Quarter: Saints Find Their Groove
After a slow start, the Saints began to click offensively. A critical third-down conversion by Carr to wide receiver Chris Olave sparked the drive that would get the Saints on the board. On the next play, running back Alvin Kamara broke loose for a 40-yard run, bringing the Saints into the red zone. Carr capitalized, hitting Michael Thomas in the end zone for a touchdown, leveling the score at 7-7.
With momentum shifting, the Broncos responded. Wilson led a quick two-minute drill before the half, capped by a 48-yard field goal by kicker Will Lutz, giving Denver a 10-7 lead heading into halftime.
